The Tower

We will take you on a tour of our incredible and unique Medieval Tower House which has been lovingly restored using traditional methods such as lime mortar and using our own oak from the woods. There is an opportunity to enjoy fabulous entertainment in the tower during your stay!

The Tower House is not included for general use in the rental price. There is an option to use the Tower for unique entertainment experiences with something to suit everyone. For example “A night of Irish traditional music and dancing” “An Irish storytelling session with a Seanchai” “Medieval banquet with costume talk”  “ A whiskey tasting session at the upstairs bar” “ A Movie night”

You can experience these packages without having to leave the estate, meaning no need to rent a minibus to take the group out and no one has to drive and therefore everyone can enjoy a drink and/or relax without worrying about the journey back.  The Tower house is an incredible atmospheric space and the unique setting will make for great memories and stories to be told for years to come.

Guest review

What can I say?? Me and my family signed up for Springfield Castle’s Medieval Night experience and IT WAS AWESOME! We were a group of 13 but ended up inviting a few more at the last minute, which Karen was graciously able to accommodate.  The whole night was a total dream.
We started on the first floor of the Castle’s medieval tower and received a history lesson from Melissa, a Costume Historian. She was fun, engaging and a wonderful presenter. From there we went up to the second floor where Melissa taught us a couple dances from the time. We all laughed the night away as most of us mixed up our rights and lefts. As if that wasn’t enough, there was a medieval feast waiting for us on the ground floor. And a feast it was! Walking into the room, we thought we were transported back to the 1300s. The hall was decorated beautifully as Hannah the harpist played we began our meal. We had soup, salad, Irish Bread, a whole salmon, venison pie, half a lamb on a spit and fresh strawberries and cream for dessert. Everything we put in our mouths was delicious and I could tell the attention to detail the castle staff put into the preparation. Most of us stayed well past midnight chatting away, talking with Melissa and enjoying in a wonderful magical Medieval Night.
